Hunt: Showdown leak shows moving train, snow, and new test material
Several videos have surfaced online that apparently come from a development or test version ofHunt: Showdownorigin. The material has not been officially confirmed so far and should be categorized accordingly with caution.
Nevertheless, the recordings contain some striking details. Particularly interesting is amoving trainas well as aextensively snow-covered Hunt environment.
A moving train in Hunt?
One of the clips shows a train that actually moves through the game world. This is interesting because it is not just a static object within a compound. In the video, the movement of the train is clearly visible. However, it is not possible to determine exactly what Crytek is testing with this material. It could be, for example, a dynamic element within a map. Just as easily, the train could simply be part of an internal test or a scene that will never be released in this form.
Whether players can enter the train, whether it follows a fixed route, or whether it has any gameplay function at all is unclear from the video.not clearly apparent.
Snow in Hunt: Showdown
Even more striking is another clip. In it, there is a clearsnow-covered game worldto see. Ground, roofs, and large parts of the landscape are covered in snow, while parts of the vegetation remain visible. This makes the environment immediately feel significantly different from the previously known Hunt maps. Especially for Hunt, snow would not only be visually interesting. A bright landscape could significantly change sightlines, camouflage, and the recognition of other hunters.
However, it is not possible to determine from the material whether we are seeing a completely new map, a winter version of an existing environment, or merely a technical test.
Early development shots
It is clearly noticeable in the videos that it is at least partially unfinished material.
Some areas feel like classic development and testing environments where not all textures or landscape elements have been finalized yet.
This is an important point when categorizing such leaks.
In internal builds, systems, animations, or environments are regularly tested that may later be significantly altered or completely discarded.
Weapons and animations are also being tested.
More clips focus more on weapons.
Included are handguns as well as shooting, handling, and reloading animations.
At least one of the clips shows aRevolver.
For the other weapons, however, we would not want to commit to specific models based on the available material. The recordings are not clear enough for that.
What's particularly interesting is that it seems multiple areas of the game are being worked on or tested simultaneously.
What does the leak mean?
Currently, actually just one thing: Apparently, there is internal material in which Crytek is experimenting with some interesting things.
Especially the moving train and the snowy surroundings stand out.
Whether any of this will actually be part of a future Hunt: Showdown update is stillnot confirmed.
Leaks from development builds often show content that is still months away from release โ or may not appear at all.
Assessment
A single weapon test would hardly be unusual. However, the combination of a moving train and extensive snowy surroundings makes the material significantly more interesting. Especially regarding these two points, it will be exciting to see if something of this reappears in upcoming updates or official announcements.โHNT.ROCKS
